A unique adventure fully immersed in nature
You cannot miss the “Antro del Corchia” Cave, a natural gem of the Upper Versilia, the most extensive karst system in Italy and one of the five largest in Europe. The experience is more thrilling than expected, and we absolutely recommend it. You’ll need to climb over 1,000 steps inside a cave with a temperature of about 7 degrees Celsius year-round, for a visit lasting about two hours. We recommend it for children ages 5 and up.
On a rainy day, you may have the privilege of seeing all the internal waterfalls, which may dry up in the summer

The ticket is purchased in the village of Levigliani, where the ticket office is clearly visible. From there, a shuttle departs for a short journey, taking you directly to the entrance of the cave. The tour is conducted in small groups with an expert guide who explains the natural and historical curiosities of the cave. The 2 km route lasts about 2 hours, including both the outward and return journey, with a truly beautiful final loop through enormous and closely packed stalactites and stalagmites (but be careful not to touch them to avoid damaging them!). The path consists mainly of steps and steel walkways with lights that activate as you pass, ensuring minimal environmental and energy impact.

To date, about 70 km of caves and 20 different access points from every side of the mountain have been explored and mapped, but the exploration is ongoing, and the speleologists continue relentlessly discovering new chambers and hidden beauties in the marble.
In addition to the Antro del Corchia cave, you can also visit the Quicksilver Mines, located near the village of Levigliani. You can purchase a combined ticket or choose one of the two attractions.

P.S. Trekking shoes are recommended to avoid slipping in wet areas, and of course, a jacket to keep warm (though after the thousandth step, you’ll start to sweat…).
